Your friends, family & coworkers would say you seem okay… but really, you feel like you’re just putting on a facade.

Inside you actually feel sad, numb, hopeless, angry, guilty and overwhelmed.

You've lost interest in things you used to enjoy, you often feel anxious or on edge, you have difficulty sleeping, you do things you know aren’t in your best interest and you keep finding yourself in unhealthy relationships.

You want to talk about what’s going on for you but you are afraid your friends or family will judge you or try to fix it.  Or worse, they will tell you just to get over it.

All you want is to feel happy and content. You don't want to keep thinking about your difficult childhood, the bad things that have happened to you or all the mistakes you've made in your life. You want to have motivation in the day and wake up feeling refreshed.  You just want to feel good.

We can help you get there.

You don’t have to do this alone.

I’m Vanessa Nixon, a registered psychotherapist serving people from all over Niagara, Ontario since 2000.  My associates, Angela Arsenio and Andrea Walker, are registered social workers with many years of experience in counselling and social services.  We help empower women and men from young teens through middle age to make changes in their lives and learn to live in contentment.  We're looking forward to helping you on your journey to healing and self-discovery.

Approach to therapy

We believe we all have the strength within us to live our best lives.  Change is always possible with intention and action. The starting point is asking for help and that’s where we come in.  Our passion is working with individuals to get to the core of the issues that make their life more difficult than it needs to be.  Helping you figure out how your life got off track and how we can get you back to living a full, satisfying life. We want to help you discover your inner strength and resources so you can move toward creating your best life.

We specialize in working with adults who have experienced trauma, abuse and loss in their lives.  We use a process oriented approach which is individualized to meet each clients unique needs and goals.  We do not work from a cookie cutter limited session approach. Each person has their own past experiences and healing journey that is diverse.

Our goal with each and every client is for you to feel comfortable and safe with us.  You can tell us anything. Our hope is for us to build a meaningful therapeutic relationship.  We aim to give you the space to express yourself authentically and to listen with empathy. Your story is important and your feelings are valid.  If this sounds like what you’ve been searching for then contact us for an appointment.
