Meet Sara

Sara completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Guelph before going on to earn her Master’s in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Over the years, Sara has provided mental health support to individuals in crisis through her work at the Certified Listener’s Society, as well as support to those living with Eating Disorders during her time on the Eating Disorder Unit at the Homewood Health Centre. Sara also spent several years completing additional training supporting adults with autism in the developmental sector.

Since the completion of her educational requirements Sara has gone on to complete additional trainings in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT). Sara’s approach to counselling draws from these modalities as well as CBT, Attachment theory, Mindfulness-based Somatic Therapies, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to create an individualized treatment for each of her clients’ unique needs.

Sara’s passion is helping adults heal from developmental and relational trauma, along with a variety of associated issues stemming from these experiences, such as disordered eating patterns, emotional regulation difficulties, and relational challenges. By creating a safe, non-judgmental and supportive therapeutic environment, Sara strives to work alongside her clients as they develop a sense of safety and comfort within themselves, while establishing meaningful goals to achieve at their own pace. Sara is a Registered Psychotherapist in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
