Meet Claire
Claire has recently completed her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, and holds Bachelor of Arts Degrees in both Child and Youth Studies and Education. Claire is passionate about improving the daily lives and functioning of those living with complex trauma and other mental health concerns through a holistic client-centred approach. This passion for helping her clients on their way to emotional wellness after trauma, as well as her work as a registered yoga instructor since 2015, has sparked her interest in the Polyvagal Theory, the neuroscience of trauma, somatic (body-based) therapies, and other “bottom-up” modalities.
Claire strives to create a safe and supportive space in which clients can begin to envision and create the future they want for themselves, whether that means lowering stress levels, improving relationships, reducing harmful behaviours or healing from trauma. Claire has experience working with clients from ages 12 to 73 who are living with conditions including depression and anxiety, life stage changes, relational strain and attachment injuries, acute and complex PTSD, dissociative disorders, substance abuse, traumatic brain injuries, and intimate partner violence.
Claire is a believer in continued professional growth and as part of her goal to specialize in complex trauma and dissociative disorders, has been trained in delivering Infra-Low Neurofeedback, the Integrative Trauma and Attachment Treatment Model (ITATM), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (Level 1), Flash Technique, and in using an Internal Family Systems informed approach. Claire looks forward to completing future trainings in Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
